Rooiels Medics

Rooiels Medics is a team of medically trained volunteer first responders, who provide assistance with medical emergencies in Rooiels and the surrounding area. The team operates after hours and over weekends, offering support for situations like cardiac arrest, stroke, airway emergencies and trauma care. The idea is to provide vital medical assistance until paramedics arrive. 

It was launched in 2024 by a group of proactive residents who recognised that ambulance response times to Rooiels can be lengthy, and early medical intervention can be life-saving. They took the initiative to undergo medical training, raise funds, source equipment and create protocols to respond to emergencies. 

Rooiels Medics are on call on weekdays between 6:00pm and 6:00am, and on weekends.
